After two days of workshops and three days of talks I thought I would give a brief run down of my top talks in no particular order. I will re-visit them in more detail as they have given me alot to think about, some affirmation and some important decisions to make…
- Leah Buley – The User Experience Team of One
- Jared Spool – Journey to the centre of design
- Joe Lamentia – Effective IA for Enterprise Portals
- Luke Wroblewski – Content page design best practices
- Stephen Anderson – Inspiration from the Edge: New patterns for interface design
- John Ferrara – Extending the gaming experience to conventional UIs
- Mathew Milan – The Information Architect and the Fighter Pilot
- Todd Zaki Warfel – Data driven design research personas
- Martin Belam – IA for Tiny stuff: Exploring widgets and gadgets
- Andrew Hinton – Linkosophy
These talks were all excellent for different reasons. The most interesting emerging subject is that the discipline is in a state of change and the labels of what IA is are more confused than ever. Perhaps that is why the poster that Dan Brown showed on Saturday night is more pertinent than alot of other ideas at the moment….
